PENNIES AND PETALS: A KOLKATA ENCOUNTER
Made in collaboration with artist Satya Ranjan Das, India, this Kalighat artwork portrays a typical cultural practice, where flower sellers—often women—would sell their wares in markets or on the streets, serving as a subtle commentary on the interactions between different social classes.

It also highlights the dignity of labour, portraying the woman as a working figure contributing to society. Kalighat art frequently captures such scenes, layering them with meaning—whether as critique, celebration, or documentation of the times.

Flip it inside out: Protect the print, turn it inside out before you wash.

Cold water only: Gentle cycle, keep it chill with cold or cool water.

No harsh chemicals: Skip the fabric softeners and bleach, keep it clean.

Shade it from the sun: Don’t let that print fade, dry it out of direct sunlight.

Don’t iron the print: If you gotta iron, turn it inside out and avoid the heat on the print.

Low tumble or air dry: Low tumble if you need, but let it air dry for the freshest look.
